My Story The last time I said goodbye to my two-year-old, Austin, was July 9, 2000. My Name is Edward Goldstone and I am just one of many fathers who has had to say goodbye to their children. This is due in large part to a court system that has huge biasses in custody cases. Giving more rights to the mothers and seeing the fathers as an income, rather that the love and capability to care for their child/children. The stories I've heard and through my own personal experience I can attest to this. On December 22, 1999 at the Abbotsford Courthouse, I was given legal visitation rights to see my son as well required to pay monthly maintenance (which I requested to pay his mother through Family Maintenance Program, to avoid any trouble with her saying she recieved the payment) Since then, in breach with the law, Austin's mother has taken him and disappeared, denying me the right to see my son. With the aide of a private investigator, I have searched for my son's mother and grandmother with no success. I continue to pay monthly maintenance, Family Maintenance Program knows where they are but apparently has no authority to divulge that information to me. I have exhausted my finances on lawyers and investigators and have yet to see any results that thousands of dollars should have producted. Although she is deliberately breaking the law, the authorities do nothing to stop her. This is due to the omission of a peace officer clause. Without this clause the police can do nothing. The court order essentially means nothing, as it can't be enforced. Most weekends you will see me standing in front of the courthouse in Abbotsford to make people aware of how the Family Court System treats fathers. We together, as a society, have to object because our childrens best interests are being neglected. ~Ed Goldstone |

~Note~ I am convinced that many children are living without thier dad's influence and suffer because of it. I would like your help to pressure the Canadian Grovernment to change these outdated laws. Its time fathers have equal rights to their child/children. Dads aren't second rate parents! ~Ed Goldstone |
